How Risk Defender got started

Risk Defender is Crystal Slavik and Jake Shilts, and Risk Defender began as a concept in 2023, when the two owners started discussing the pitfalls they’ve seen in the news and in their respective careers about the lack of concern for safety and compliance. With Crystal’s background in Finance and Human Resources it was easy for her to breakdown where previous companies were losing profit by cutting out the quality of work in favor of quantity. Additionally with Jake’s background being on the ground floor with the workers that are being rushed in today’s workplace environments and with him having to go back and fix jobsites or save a project due to his predecessor’s having the lack of knowledge and/or training, which then led to project delays, unsafe workplace environments, and setbacks- both financially and personally.

Risk Defender’s Vision
